One of my favorite fiction writing exercises is interviewing characters!

So, without further adieu, grab your writing utensils of choice and let's dive right in, shall we!?

  1. What is your name and does it have any special significance?

  2. What are you afraid of today?

  3. Who are the people you want to help?

  4. If you could master any skill overnight, what would you pick?

  5. What are 3 hard things you know you need to do?

  6. What is keeping you from being courageous and doing those things?

  7. What would happen if you fail?

As a bonus exercise, try this interview again, but this time ask the questions of your villain!

And bonus BONUS exercise, try asking these interview questions of yourself.

If you gave this a try, I'd love to hear about it! Drop a comment here or on the YouTube video!
