Interviewing Your Villain

One of my favorite exercises in character development is asking questions.

Let's take a little time RIGHT NOW to interview your villain, shall we?


  1. What is your name, and does it have any special significance?

  2. What makes you a great leader?

  3. What words would you use to describe yourself?

  4. How would you describe your relationship with your mother?

  5. If you could snap your fingers and have all the money you can imagine, what would you do with it?

  6. What gets under your skin the most?

  7. Why do you think that gets under your skin?

  8. What would happen if you succeed?
